I want to buy a new mountain bike. I've gotten some advice from avid mountain bikers who suggest checking out a local bike shop and getting an entry level mountain bike ranging in price from $400-$900. I was expecting more like $200... I guess I'm sadly mistaken.
I was told not to go to a retailer like Sports Authority because they have cheap bikes which are poorly assembled but they are definitely more in my price range.
Do I spend the money and buy a $500 bike that I may or may not use to its full potential?
I don't know what to do...
